For disabling the modules in your Magento store please use the following instructions:
1. Log in to the Magento admin panel.
2. click the "System" tab
3. Select the "Configuration" menu item
4. Click the "Advanced" menu item. Here you can disable any module you want.
5. Find the modules you want to disable in the list.
6. Select "Disable" in the drop-down menu
7. When you are done, click the "Save Config" button to save your modifications.
